At Paperbark Deathcare, we provide an honest and transparent outline of costs to help you understand the financial aspects of our services. While we offer standard packages, we also specialise in creating customised options tailored to meet the unique needs of each family.

In compliance with Fair Trading β€œFuneral Information Standard” the following information about the cost of goods and services is offered. Prices are GST inclusive.

We offer free initial contact and guidance to ensure you have the support you need from the start. 

We understand that financial circumstances can vary, and we encourage you to discuss any financial hardships with us. We aim to accommodate all families and provide support during these times.

Funeral Packages

Paperbark Private/Direct Cremation No attendance $2480 Inc GST

This is a Private/Direct Unattended Cremation, our most cost effective service. It includes all transfers, natural body care, shrouding, bio-board casket, all cremation permits, cremation fee, death certificate with 6 certified copies and ashes are collected from Paperbark or posted in a standard boxed urn provided by crematorium.

Adding a facilitated viewing at cremation, tending/vigil at Paperbark or an intimate small sized ceremony at crematorium is also possible. Please see the drop down for additional small/intimate Private/Direct Cremation packages below.

  • All inclusions of a Private Cremation with viewing of insertion (at Tweed Valley Crematorium). Max 20 people.

  • All inclusions of a Private Cremation with self directed/DIY 20min vigil/ceremony (At Tweed Valley Crematorium) Max 20 people.

  • All inclusions of a Private Cremation with a 30 min vigil/viewing at Paperbark. Max 20 people.

  • All inclusions of Private Cremation with a 30min ceremony lead by a Paperbark ceremonialist/celebrant (Tweed Valley Crematorium) Max 20 people.

Our services are entirely flexible to reflect your wishes and needs. The following package pricing is offered as a general guide to support your planning and consideration.

Service & Products
This is the base cost of your chosen service. It includes the time, care, and coordination provided by our team to create a farewell that is right for you or your person.

Personal Elements
These are the items that personalise the serviceβ€”such as the coffin or casket, urns, love cards, or a visual tribute. These can be chosen to reflect your values, tastes, or budget.

Disbursements
These are things provided by others that we help arrange on your behalf. This might include flowers, venues, crematorium or cemetery fees and newspaper notices

TRANSFER FEES

Transport of body from place of death to our mortuary facility or your home 24hours / 7 days (within 150km)

HOLISTIC NATURAL BODY CARE

Everyone that comes through Paperbark is gently washed, oiled, dressed and shrouded in love unless otherwise requested.

  • The first 7 nights are with love, after that a $25 per night fee is charged.

  • Ashes are returned to Paperbark for collection from office. Delivery & postage is available at cost.

  • Cold Plate hire is included in our home vigil costs.

  • This is a set up with instructions on keeping your person cool at home.

COFFINS, CASKETS, URNS, SHROUDS & CEREMONY RITUAL

  • Basket of silk, ribbons, paper, pens & texters.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE FEES, CEREMONIALIST/CELEBRANT & STAFFING

ADMINISTRATION, CREMATION & BURIAL FEES

  • Provided by the attending Medical Practitioner within 24-48hrs of death.

  • From the Attending Practitioner who filled out the Medical Cause of Death Certificate

  • Provided by another certified Medical Referee Dr - not all Drs are able to provide this & every cremation in NSW requires it.

  • From State Registry Office, this is done once cremation or burial has taken place & takes 2-4 weeks to be issued.

  • Estimate between $80 - $380

  • All cemeteries vary & are paid directly to them.

CEREMONIAL NEEDS - Flowers, multi-media, love cards/order of service, vehicle/hearse

Payment is due within 24 hours after an invoice is issued, unless alternative arrangements are made in advance. We accept various payment methods, including direct deposit, bank transfer, cash, cheque, and Visa payments through Stripe, which incurs a 1.7% surcharge.

Additional Travel Fees

Our services are structured around three primary regions, each tailored to accommodate the specific needs of THE FAMILIES WE SERVE:

Spanning from our base in Murwillumbah, within 150km radius, including all suburbs within these boundaries. This is our primary service area where standard pricing applies. *Additional fees may only apply if out of hours, Sunday or public holiday

Service Area 1: + $360

Service Area 2: + $480

Extends from our base in Murwillumbah, up to 350km radius, encompassing all intermediate suburbs. Services in this region incur additional fees to reflect the extended coverage and logistical requirements.

Service Area 3: Intersate & Repatriation POA

Our broadest coverage stretches from Murwillumbah and 350km beyond. Pricing for services in this extensive area is provided on application (POA) to account for the greater distances and specific client needs.

Please note that our pricing is structured to be as transparent as possible. We encourage discussions with you to better understand and accommodate specific needs, especially for those located outside our primary service regions.
